EMOBILE, Japan's fourth-largest mobile operator, will launch a mobile-phone rental service for Chinese tourists and business travelers visiting Japan, offering the added bonus of providing the handsets prior to their departure, business daily Nikkei reports.
The service starts on September 1, with users receiving their handsets at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. This will enable them to give their contact numbers in Japan to family members and co-workers even before leaving their country.
The mobile-phone unit of eAccess plans to expand the service to Beijing and other areas in China.
